About Us

Local Labour. Proven Performance.

Bishop Workforce was founded by Lachlan Bishop, who started in construction as a labourer, worked his way through the trades and eventually managed labour hire operations for other companies before deciding to run it differently.

We’re based in New South Wales, operating across the ACT and regional NSW. With active operators currently on site around the ACT, we supply general and skilled labour, plant operators, traffic controllers and site establishment crews to civil construction, renewables and major projects.

We are deeply embedded in the communities we serve. We meet and hand-pick every worker face-to-face, attend inductions where possible and stay in regular contact with your site teams. We focus on reliability, not volume.

Our Values

At Bishop Workforce, we believe labour hire should be built on genuine partnerships and proven reliability. Rather than treating placements as a numbers game, we focus on precision, accountability, and equipping your site with people who can actually do the work.

We run it differently.

Reliability over volume

We’d rather supply fewer workers who show up and stay on the job than churn through placements that don’t last the week.

Hands-on management

We attend inductions, follow up regularly and stay involved. Our workers are our responsibility until they’re inducted and working.

Supporting upskilling

When workers want to expand their capabilities, we help. We fund tickets for people we trust because investing in our crew is better than recruiting strangers off Seek every time a new role opens up.

Community involvement

We support mental health and wellbeing programs in construction, including fundraising for Mates in Construction. We also run team events like site barbecues to bring crews together and improve morale: because people do better work when they feel looked after.

Bishop is working to establish pathways for young people in construction trades and helping them find the right fit early.

Lachlan Bishop

Founder and Director

Bishop Workforce was founded by Lachlan Bishop, who started his career on construction sites as a labourer and worked his way into leadership roles within the labour hire industry. Having spent years on both sides of the fence, on site and behind the scenes managing workforce operations, Lachlan developed a deep understanding of what clients need and what workers expect.

After managing labour hire operations for other businesses, he saw an opportunity to build something different. Too often, clients were promised quality workers and reliable service but received neither. In response, Lachlan established Bishop Workforce with a simple goal: provide dependable people, maintain honest communication, and build long-term relationships based on trust and performance.

Today, Bishop Workforce operates across New South Wales, the ACT and regional areas, supplying general and skilled labour, plant operators, traffic controllers and site establishment crews to civil construction, renewable energy and major infrastructure projects.

Despite our growth, we remain hands-on. Lachlan is actively involved in the business, personally overseeing client relationships, workforce quality, and project delivery. Every worker is carefully selected, every client is treated as a partner and every project receives the attention it deserves.

At Bishop Workforce, we believe labour hire should be straightforward: the right people, in the right place, at the right time. That’s the standard we’ve built our reputation on.

We care about the success of your projects.
We meet every worker, check their capability and make sure they’re ready before they step on site.
